EEOC protects different groups from discrimination based on race, color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, age, disability, and genetic information. The group that I chose to discuss is age, and EEOC ensures that no one is mistreated or favored less because of their age. The legislation in place for the same is the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), which prohibits discrimination against anyone aged 40 or above. It considers it legal if a company favors an older employee (40 years or above) over a younger one.
